2. Talk us through your working processes, what are you working on at the moment?

SPONTANEOUS
MAGIC
VITAL

EXUBERANCE

3. Can you tell us about your recent feature film Das Spiel Der Hoffnung? We’ve seen the trailer, and are excited to see more!

I love ❤️ films - making them is exciting because you don’t fill the world with physical STUFF (though Stuff can be fun - I am a hoarder)

PERFORMANCE & FILM exist in a moment of creation & viewing.

4. Who, where or what has you feeling excited at the moment?

Beauty & Making → Physical MAKING - trying hard - excitement in failure.

Who has me excited?

ALWAYS
JACK SMITH
1932-1989

ROBERT HELPMANN
ROSE WYLIE
EDITH SITWELL
PICASSO

obvious fun choices off top of head

READING
BOOKS
WITH
MY
EYES
CLOSED

5. We’ve watched a couple of your Inspirational Makeup Tutorials on Youtube; does the process of making and delivering work online feel like an intimate one to you and how does it compare to showing work in a gallery space? Does online feedback play an important part in that process?

Putting & making work on YOUTUBE is unique & BEST because:

The viewer & the maker are both in the same exact position - normally alone in front of webcam - it’s INTIMATE but also open & universal ~ UNTIL THEY BAN YOU.

6. Can you reflect upon a pivotal work or project, one that has played a part in shaping your practice?

ALWAYS working with other people - Balance between unspoken collaboration & explaining vision - WORDS can be ANNOYING.

10. If you had unlimited access to resources and funding, is there a piece or project that you would like to realise?

I would love to create an ever changing set - build it/ destroy it/ film it/ with people coming & going - A LIVING SKETCHBOOK MOVIE
